Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): PvuI--3.4, 1.05; BglI-- 2.4, 1.1, 0.9; HindIII-- 4.4. The vector can be used whenever it is necessary to maintain two plasmids within the same cell. The vector expresses the alpha amino-terminal fragment of the lacZ gene product and display alpha-complementation in appropriate hosts. The vector was constructed by inserting 241/678 fragment of pUC18 into pGBM1 (ATCC 87497). |
