Hybri-Care medium is based on the formulation used by D.H. Sachs and collaborators for propagation of hybridomas and other fastidious cell lines. A combined buffering system of HEPES and added NaHCO3 enables the medium to be used at all stages of hybridoma production from fusion to cloning, including single-cell subcloning. |

Hybri-Care medium is based on the formulation used by D.H. Sachs and collaborators for propagation of hybridomas and other fastidious cell lines. Ingredients are essentially those of a modified DMEM and NCTC 135 plus insulin. A combined buffering system of HEPES and added NaHCO3 enables the medium to be used at all stages of hybridoma production from fusion to cloning, including single-cell subcloning.
When used with 10% fetal bovine serum, Hybri-Care repeatedly has been found to support vigorous growth of most hybridomas in the ATCC collection.
